If you have wondered why we have been out of touch during the last week, you can now be assured that we weren't on the beach somewhere, but in fact isolated in a hospital room. Our poor little Connor underwent surgery last week to remove his tonsils and adenoids (I still have no idea what those are). He did amazingly well, especially suffering 10 hours of fasting prior to the surgery. He didn't like the recovery process, however, and must have enjoyed his room in the hospital too much to want to eat or drink and go home. We stayed a little longer than hoped, but eventually the little guy devoured a bag of goldfish crackers and they let us go. He is still very sore and has a difficult time swallowing, but is recovering and starting to regain his spunky little personality.
Before the surgery- being goofy.
Distraction- Bubbles!
Post-surgery: In the cage. This was also the only 30 min that he ever stepped foot in that bed. He had Mama, willingly obliging, hold him every minute of the entire stay...
Carson started a new soccer season and has had a great time so far! He enjoys being outside and running around more than anything, but every now and then he gets a kick at the ball!

John Hansen, Kitty Cat, peeps, chimichurri, White shorts in winter make my eyes all blurry, Brownies and cow bells and hair cuts with wings, These are a few of our favorite things!
Happy Birthday Marc! We love you! (white shorts in winter ↓ )
Kevin was just accepted to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, which was our top choice for medical school! We are so excited and proud of his hard work and dedication! "Way to go, Daddy!!" (Carson's exclamation). Here is a quick glimpse at part of his acceptance letter:
Every year in September, Costco starts selling Gingerbread houses. Since we make a trip there at least once a week, Carson begs for it each time he sees it. I refuse to purchase it until at least November, but then he drools over it for a whole month as I make him wait until December before we build it. This year Connor contributed to the eating of most of the candy (and was in his bed still playing four hours after bed time...coincidence?) Carson, however, was very careful and exact in his placement of each piece of candy. We had a great time and the finished house has actually lasted for a couple of days in tact (I predict it won't be much longer before Connor has the whole thing consumed). Connor's one contribution. The rest of the time he was eating. Need I explain? The finished house.
Grandpa and Grandma Ellsworth had a special Family Home Evening about Christmas and taught the boys what each symbol of Christmas represented. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed popcorn balls afterward.
Thanks for dropping in! Life seems to be so busy and we don't get to see each other as often as we'd hope to. Keep in touch by checking out our blog then leave a comment so we know you came by!
